The Zhang Zhung royal lineage practiced this as a yidam practice. Meri and Gekhod are of the same essence. Moreover, this deity has great power to act as an opponent to bdud and srin demons. In the past, evil spirits harmed sentient beings. Then Walchen Gekhod, an emanation of the three gonpo as one essence, hurled a flaming boulder the size of a wild-yak from the mountain peak into the outer great ocean. The ocean boiled, and the demons who harmed sentient beings experienced great suffering. Then the miraculous deity Kuji Mangke asked them what suffering had befallen them. The chief among them explained that they were suffering because a flaming boulder was rolled on them. Then Kuji Mangke said, “If that flaming boulder is lifted up from the bottom of the ocean, will you all listen to everything I say?” He said. Because they agreed to do so, this yidam has great power when practiced.

The Bön believe that there are five inner and five outer elements, which are interdependent. The outer elements are fire, water, air, earth and space. They, as well as most Tibetans, also believe there are many beings that are not visible to the ordinary eye. Many of them live in and care for the sky, water and earth. Humans often disrespect non-humans by destroying the environment which incurs wrath and obstacles for humans such as sickness, accidents, and other destructive actions. When the elements and our relationship with the earth and spirits become damaged, methods are used to restore ourselves and surroundings to proper balance.

Geshe Namgyal will teach how to protect yourself with the energy and power of Mount Kailash. Mount Kailash is externally a snow mountain, but internally it is a form of wisdom. That fair wisdom is in the form of deities and protection energy; it has many different qualities, different colors and shapes for different purposes. The activation is to make sure you connect your body and mind. All your bad emotions, spirits, obstacles, enemies be can reduced to dust easily by the fair wisdom power. Geshe will introduce a new translation of the Seven point Supplication prayer of Mount Kailash that can generate all good powers, connect one externally and internally to Mount Kailash’s wisdom, purify all negativities and establish balance factors of body, mind, energy, and spirit.

Join Geshe Dangsong Namgyal for the auspicious Nampar Gyalwa practice. This practice is a special manifestation of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab. The Nampar Gyalwa mandala includes ten main deities and one hundred glorious protectors. His right hand is above his head, palm up, symbolizing his dominion over the sky. His left hand is performing the suppressing mudra symbolizing his power over the earth. Nampar Gyalwa can always be called upon to assist in vanquishing evil and bringing peace and auspiciousness.
